Need help identifying this mineral I pulled from mining claim in Utah

Can anyone help me properly identify this gemstone. I’m unsure if it’s ruby ir beryl. It’s not Uber reactive but I understand that not all rubies will be up reactive. But it’s formed into almost a pentagon or squar. Very transparent and almost a pink purple the dark colors in the pics don’t do it justice because in person it’s very transparent. One can see straight through it. I got lucky with this as it was in my boot laces after a day of mining quartz  pyrite and gold I know it’s possible bro be beryl or it could just be a beautifully formed transparent ruby any luck someone can help me out with this. Its weight is about 5 karats found in Utah mine claim and I was considering cutting as a gemstone jewelry piece or would I do better leaving it as is? Thanks in advance for anyone who can help

Pretty sure that is a piece of garnet.

Test the hardness to be sure.

Looks like garnet to me as well. Nice color and clarity!
