Tooth, claw , something else??

Found in the bed of The Little Harpeth River in Davidson Co. TN today.

At first thought maybe tooth, but there is no enamel coat and no serrations, then thought maybe claw because it is more spongy in texture.

But also considered Heliophyllum, but the ridges on it are vertical. So here I am asking you! 😊

Rugose coral is correct.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
