New Members LDanford Posted July 23 New Members Share Posted July 23 I found this in my chicken coop. I live 100 miles from the coast of North Carolina, just above the South Carolina line. Our area is called the Sand Hills of NC. I would love to know if this left from the ocean or if someone in the past just dropped it.
Rockwood
The details that would allow a definite ID are missing. Abertella alberti is a large sand dollar found at the Maryland shore. It's likely at least a similar fossil. Edited July 23 by Rockwood spelling
Coco
That’s a Sanddollar, all right. It would have to be cleaned a little in order to count the number of lunules (the elongated "holes"), which would give details to identify it.
