Found this at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Not sure if it is a scute of some kind? Any help appreciated.

I  wonder if this isn't some really worn shark tooth, or maybe even just a piece of phosphate?   :headscratch:

Maybe some of our southeast experts will weigh in.

Hang tight!  ;)

Without better pictures, I think I'd lean towards phosphate, but see what the experts say.

Definitely doesn't look like a scute to me.  Need better pictures to see the surface structure.  Might be a very worn piece of bone but could also be just a phosphate nodule.
