Crinoids

Recommended Posts

I am new to Mississippian strata and have been cleaning crinoids, I have my latest two that I have left that I can not ID, does anyone have any idea?

So far I have found 3 pentaramicrinus bimagnaramus, 2 lanecrinus and what I think is a Ethelocrinus. These 5 are not pictured.

What is the locality? The first two look like Phanocrinus and the last a Phacelocrinus. Looks like this is a Chesterian formation so Gabe @crinoid1 would be the expert for a precise ID.

I am also very curious about those Pentaramicrinus bimagnaramus and "Ethelocrinus" you found. The latter is a Pennsylvanian genus. Mind sharing some photos?

I am in the buffalo wallow group. This is one of each, all I have photos on me right now, I stick most of the individual calyxs in a Riker mount.

I am in a bit of a crinoid graveyard, I've got about 100 individual calyxs not all show in the photo below

Very nice, I would agree with Pentaramicrinus bimagnaramus on the first one. For the "Ethelocrinus" I would have to see the dorsal and posterior views of the calyx.
