New Members LakeErie_Fish_Girl Posted July 25 New Members Share Posted July 25 I found this coral(?) fossil on a beach on Lake Erie in Ohio. My pictures aren't great (iPhone camera) but I did my best to zoom and mess with vibrancy and sharpness. It's about two centimeters in diameter and looks like some kind of honeycomb pattern that appears to be a coral. I was thinking possibly horn coral. Any help in identifying this is much appreciated! TqB Posted July 25 Share Posted July 25 (edited) Yes, it's a colonial coral, so not part of a solitary rugose "horn coral". Hard to be sure which one from your photos but it's probably a tabulate coral (no long septa visible), a favositid and maybe Favosites itself.
