Real Oviraptor partial nest with parent remains ?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I saw this more macabre looking fossil for sale today, and wondered if its real or not...

Its apparently a partial Oviraptor nest, with a partial parent still nesting on it :headscratch:

Its from the Nanxiong formation, China.

Is it real ? The egg seems a bit fishy to me, it has a weird texture

Thanks !

I'm very suspicious about that egg!

Personally I think its a fake egg mounted on some bones.

Cheers!

Bones seems to be real in my oppinion. The "egg" ? I'm in doubt about it.....

The egg-shaped object has the appearance of (shape and color) an egg's infill of sediment. There seems to be no shell. This gray colored interior is often visible in eggs with partial shell from that locale.
