Petrified Wood, Sounds Like Glass?

I believe this is Petrified Wood, but it's not like my other ones. There appears to be little fractures all over, and when I tap it, it sounds like glass. And there's what looks to me like a black rock in there. Could it be shale, or limestone?

Sorry, this isn't wood. It looks like chert to me.

I'm not seeing fossilized wood here, either.

Chert has a formula of SiO2 with some impurities but almost all sillica

Industrial/common Glass has a majority of about 70%-80% SiO2
