Partial Tooth Needs Species ID

This tooth fragment was found on a river gravel bar in southern Minnesota by a friend. There are lots of glacial deposits in the area. I know it is a tooth from a browser or grazer but I cannot match the pattern in the enamel and dentin of the chewing surface to a horse, bovine, or proboscidean pattern I've ever seen before. Any thoughts? The general shape makes me think of a horse molar but again - cannot match the pattern to a pattern I've seen in other horse teeth.
