Is this a fossil or a tiny fish looking mark on the rock?

This is smooth to touch and obviously part of this rock- Found in creek bed, Near Oberon, NSW Australia. High altitude area known for gold, copper and corundum.

Thank you in advance.

Just a suggestively shaped mineral inclusion. The presence of gold and copper likely suggests the rock is not sedimentary, and too old for fossils.

Thanks for your replies, all- that clears it up, and I've learned something too. I'm very new to this, and happy to learn what I can.

One more thing, if that's ok? I have tried to look up the image of this rock online, and have come up with many different names, all ending in 'ite'. So I'm in the dark. Anyone have an idea what this rock is? Looks like some quartz in there, very consistent with the area- but then I'm stuck. Thank you again. :headscratch:

The rock is more than likely from the Oberon Granite formation, therefore some type of porphyritic granite.
