What is this? How old is this? Where does it come from?

Maybe foraminifera. It may be tough do the algebra with that many unknowns though.

Where was this item found? Location found is pretty important to the ID process.

Also, what is the size of this item?

 

To me, this looks like a possible coral, and likely paleozoic in age.(Devonian or Silurian?)

But, location info would help with figuring that out.

I would be on the side of coral also possibly Syringopora, its very similar to many i have
