Hi,

I found this bone in a bayou where I have found parts of mastodons. It had deposits of oxidized blue-clay which I have since cleaned. The bones I have identified are the teeth, tusk, and other dead giveaways of mastodons.  I am an avid relic hunter here in SW, MS. The bone came from Adams County, MS. Identification would be quite welcomed.

Regards,

George Roberts

This would be a bovine metatarsal, probably cow as the distal end doesn't expand as much as in bison.  To me, yours matches cow better.
