Hi TFF friends. Some more finds from this past week. All found on beach in northeast FL. Would really appreciate any input! 

 

#1 really stumped me. At first I thought it was drift wood, but it’s pretty heavy and solid.

#5 is a puffer fish mouth plate.

#1 Burrow casts? @Jaybot do you know on this one?

#2 Turtle shell fragment

#3 Bone fragment, ( might be able to be identified by the experts, I just don't know)

#4 Bone fragment

#5 Puffer fish mouth plate

Not to be that person, but 5 is burrfish or porcupine fish.  :Wink1:

I see bryozoans and other fossil fragments, could it be a burrow that got filled with debri?

@Fin Lover thank you! I think I found more similar fragments today. Interesting thing is #2 was black when I found it and had much more distinct pattern/segments that resemble the burrfish photo. After soaking it in distilled water for about an hour - this was the color change. Not sure if I’m doing wrong by soaking it? I’m bummed it lost some character… but based on this photo - are these also burrfish mouth plates? I imagine #1 is difficult to classify if it is

They look like it, although I've never found just that piece that #1 is.  Interesting!
