Is this a tooth? Need help identifying

Welcome to the forum.

 

The radial pattern in the side showing in the first photo is a cross section of a rugose coral. It seems to be in a piece of chert, the tooth shape is coincidental.

I think there's the edge of a second corallite showing at the bottom so it's a colonial species. The most common around there is Hexagonaria but there are other possibilities and I think it's not clear enough to tell for sure. (Roughly where in Michigan?)
