New Members briipaige Posted August 21 New Members Share Posted August 21 Back again with another quest for an ID! I have taken some close up photos of the textures on this rock. By texture, I mean the look of it. The surface is fairly flat. One photo shows the rock in my hand for scale. Found on the banks of the vermillion river in North Central IL
DPS Ammonite
Is that “texture” due to changes in surface height or is it due to changes in coloration? My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. It is most definitely due to coloration
