Genuine Fishes or not?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I saw these plates with fossilized fishes in a small shop near my house. From my inexperienced eye they seem poorly prepared, even the low price could be a clue. Can you tell me if you think they are real or fake? In case they are real, I will open a topic to find out the ID of the 3 specimens if it is possible to recognize them despite the conditions. I don't even have information regarding the area of origin. I can only say that the n.1 fish is the bigger ( about 10cm) , the n.2 fish is 7cm and the n.3 is less than 5cm.

Absolutely Genuine fish fossil.

First is a Knightia eocaena from the Eocene Green River Formation.

Second it a Chinese fish, Lycoptera davidi. Lower Cretaceous of Liaoning, China.

Third is a Dastilbe crandalli from the Lower Cretaceous Santana Basin, Romualdo Formation of Brazil.

The Chinese fish looks like it might have been painted over with some sort of ink to make it stand out from the rock.

All are decent specimens.
