New Members Az newbies Posted August 22 New Members Share Posted August 22 I have looked everywhere for this thing and I can find some things that look slightly similar but everything is too far degraded it looks like to be sure.. you can see spikes preserved in the stone medium but that hasn't helped me much
Fossildude19
Where in Arizona was this found? Location helps us to figure out the stratigraphy, and age of the area, thereby narrowing down ID possibilities. This looks to me like a spiny brachiopod internal mold of some sort. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." It could be Peniculauris bassi from the Permian Kaibab Limestone. It is a chert cast of a brachiopod. Note nice spines.
