Cicija
More than ten years ago, when I didn't even think I would collect fossils, I came across this miracle and couldn't resist. The seller only knew that it was a trilobite and that it came from Morocco. This year I started collecting fossils and cataloging them. I know this fossil is not complete, but I assume it is a member of the Calymenidae family. Can someone identify more closely at least which genus it is? Calymene, Diacalymene, Flexicalymene or some fourth. Or did I even get the family wrong?
Kane
Due to a lack of pygidial ribbing, I would label it Colpocoryphe grandis. 1 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
Cicija
This was fast. Thanks. At least I guessed the family. Edited August 23 by Cicija
Kane
You did. And the other calymenid from that area (with pygidial ribbing) is Flexicalymene ouzregui 1 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
Cicija
On Wikipedia, the family is Calymenidae, and on Mindat and GBIF, the family is Homalonotidae. I thought that we biologists complicate taxonomy, but you paleontologists have it much worse. :-)
