New Members Peeksofpast Posted August 24 New Members Share Posted August 24 Hello All Fossil Finders! New here and excited to share my finds and learn along the way. I have searched everywhere on information on these structure like rocks and the only similar info I can find is either they are flow rocks or stalagmites. I find these everywhere on my property in the ground and some in a creek bed. Live in Oldham County KY near the Ohio river, which it looks also falls in some fault planes. Any info would be much appreciated!
Mark Kmiecik
Flowstone and stalagmites/stalactites are generally not this coarse in texture. I'm not convinced that they are. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

I'm not convinced that they are. Thank you for responding! I wasn’t convinced either. When you compare photos flowstone, stalagmites/stalactites. Maybe metamorphic type rock? I just find a lot of these usually scattered among crystallized fossil stones and they have very interesting formations. the larger ones are heavy so I may just slice one open to explore some more.
