New Members Taliesin Posted August 24 New Members Share Posted August 24 I found this potential fossil footprint at Charmouth beach, Dorset, with my son last week. Each "claw" is approximately 25mm in length. The right hand two are particularly sharply defined and indented in the stone. Any advice would be appreciated in identifying what it may be. Thanks in advance.
Rockwood
Sorry, I don't think there is enough evidence available in the piece to identify it as a track.

TqB
There aren't any rocks suitable for footprints at Charmouth (all deposited in water that was too deep). I think that's a piece of chert from the local Cretaceous Upper Greensand, with some chance fractures. 2 Tarquin
