Fossil or rock?

Hello, first post! sought out a forum like this as i really am unsure what to search for to attempt at identifying what this is - found near bardsea in cumbria thinking it appeared fossil- esque at first - it’s round the whole pebble these very uniformed marking so was unsure wether it was a smoothed out piece of something from a larger stone or indeed a fossil haha! thanks to anyone who has any advice or answers i absolutely adore searching the beaches for wonderful items! :)

Welcome to the forum. :)

 

It'll be from the lower Carboniferous period. The large number of septa and the way they reach nearly to the centre fits Palaeosmilia which is a possibility from around there but it's tricky to ID reliably as the outside area has been lost.
