I found this on the beach at Stoupe Beck, a few miles south of Whitby.  Pebble beach rich in tumbled ammonite fragments and gryphaea. Could the 3 almost parallel lines be claw/toe marks?

In the right context claw marks left by a swimming animal might be considered. If track ways are known to exist in the area it might warrant consideration. I wouldn't call it an identification though.
