What tooth is this?

Not a tooth. No enamel present. No tooth morphology.

No root, or bone texture to indicate it is a root.  Definitely NOT a tooth.

 

Compare with pictures of actual Mastodon teeth. This looks nothing like those.  :(

I wish it were some sort of tooth, but, the evidence says otherwise.

I'm in the just a rock group also. I’m not seeing any evidence of any kind of fossil tooth
