Hi all , new to this site, but thought would take advantage of your collective knowledge.

The other day we found this rock/bone fossil while walking on Lyme Regis beach, Jurassic coast, Dorset, UK.

We thought it might be a plesiosaur rib or part of a paddle bone?.

Any help gratefully received.

Welcome to TFF,

I am amazed that I am trying to identify 40 mm bone tip with few distinguishing marks.... I like your idea of a paddle bone, but given the size,  maybe turtle... Think about breaking off the ends of some of these bones....post-423-12641020011546.thumb.jpg.b2754c7776e26dd4069b7fcd890a9b31.jpg

Remove the epiphysis and compare

This ID only qualifies as a "maybe"
