Silurian microalgae?

At first I thought these were silicified conodonts but now leaning towards microalgae? These were found in mid- Wenlockian sediments associated with sponge spicules, bryozoa, corals, etc. Northern Illinois.

I agree that they are not conodonts; could be some kind of algae.  Fantastic photos by the way!
