Cicija
I bought this ammonite as a child decades ago at Gletschergarten Luzern, Schweiz. Together with it I also bought one Dactylioceras sp. (Lias Epsilon, Schwarze Jura) I assume originally from Germany. Those were my first two fossils. Is there anyone who could determine the genus of this ammonite based on a photo of the cross-section. It is 5 cm tall.
SPrice
Could you also include a photo of the other side? Steve

Fossildude19
I suspect you would need to have the outside prepared to expose the sutures, to be able to make a reasonable ID on this. Also knowing the exact location found would make the job a bit easier. 1 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Cicija
Thanks. I will enter it in my catalog only as an ammonite.
