New Members Nate B Posted September 5 New Members Share Posted September 5 I'm currently in Alfred, NY, and ventured out to visit a part the creek nearby. After wading for a few seconds, I looked down to find that almost every stone in the brook was some form of Devonian fossil! I grabbed a few of the closest and nicer looking ones near me and cleaned them up a little or photographed them. Jeffrey P Posted September 6 Share Posted September 6 I would add that the bedrock around Alfred is Upper Devonian in age. Upper Devonian rocks in New York can be very hit or miss- sometimes a lot of fossils. Oftentimes none. Looks like you hit the jackpot so to speak.
