Kohler Palaeontology
My guess is maybe a large mammal toe bone from an elephant-like creature??? Don't quote me on it, wait for other opinions but that's what it looks like to me. Not sure if it's modern or not Edited September 10 by Kohler Palaeontology
Brandy Cole
The shape is similar to a proboscidean carpal or tarsal, but the texture in the picture hasn't quite convinced me that this is bone material. More pictures from more angles would be helpful.

Advantage
not enough uniformity for a bone, so I will also go with a rock.
ClearLake
Looks like a piece of limestone to me. Appears to have some fossil fragments in it.
