costaricajc
Is it possible to have an ID or at least an educated guess just with this fragments. I think the central pacific coast of CR started to form about 2 - 2,6 million years ago, this is what I found on the internet.
anonaddict
looks to me like a bivalve since the shell looks fairly flat. without knowing anything about costa rica beyond a quick internet search my best bet would be a scallop or clam of some sort but its hard to tell from only a fragment. my best advice would be looking up other fossil shells from costa rica and comparing to those
Fossildude19
Agree with bivalve, possibly some sort of scallop. Specimen is incomplete which narrows the possibility of an accurate ID. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
