Crinoid Cup?

Roz

Recommended Posts

A fossil hunter in AR, emailed some fossil pics for me to add to my

old Arkansas site. Problem is, I am not sure what it is, but thinking a

crinoid cup. Was hoping to get a correct ID before I add it..

He found it in Marion County which is way in the north section of AR.

Nice find, Roz.

That's an internal mold of a crinoid calyx in the chert of the Mississippian Burlington Fm. Not sure of the genus, but nice find. Looks like a lot of the internal structure is preserved.

Thanks so much for the information and ID. Appreciate your help..

I wish the find would have been mine, but the finder will be happy, I am sure!
