Dave J
Hi this was found at the Wrens Nest in Dudley UK. I believe it is a Gastropod shell and I was wondering if anyone could confirm or offer me a species name? It seems a little crushed and flattened at the tip. Ludwigia
Looks like a rough steinkern from a gastropod, but I'm afraid that a classification to a species is practically impossible due to failing defining features. 1 2 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Fossildude19
Maybe something similar to Worthenia? Ludwigia
I think Worthenia first appeared in the Devonian, so that would rule it out, although it does admittedly look similar. 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Fossildude19
Ah, OK. Thanks for that, Roger. It came up whilst Googling Silurian Gastropods for some reason. Maybe something more like Lophospira or Trochonema, then.
