It is a toe bone, probably modern. I am not sure if anyone will be able to ID it to species.

Welcome to TFF,  It's a great place for people who want an identification of a modern or fossil bone..  As Darktooth says,  it is a toebone,  scientific name Phalanx.. Yours is probably a Proximal (closer to heal ) or Medial (closer to toes) .. Here is a Picture of a Canid (Dog, wolf, coyote) family foot bones...

To START,  Canid is just one possibility

Let's play a game.. Solve a puzzle.

SO, look at the Proximal and medial phalanx,  and say which one do you think looks closer to your bone?

Now,  Measure your bone.. Length and Width  !!!! Wolves are much larger than Dogs or Coyotes , so a Wolf's Proximal Phalanx will be bigger longer than dog or coyote.

Next ,  pick a possibility,  and search for images of a  "Wolf  Proximal Phalanx"  and compare that bone to your bone,  focus on size first...

Here is one from a search I JUST did.... it is One and 5/16ths inch OR 33 mille meters!! in Length..  Comparing your bone to the Wolf proximal phalanx,  is your bone the same or different,  bigger or smaller (dog or coyote)..

If you do not think it matches,  pick another animal.... Maybe Felines (cats) and you keep on going until you keep on going until you find a MATCH !!!  Just like riding a bike, you learn as you go...
