Large fossil?!

I would love to identify this... I found it in my apartment complex in Oceanside, CA. I've tried reaching out to a few paleontologists out here but they don't respond. I just want to take it somewhere useful for research if it is something archaic. Thanks for your help!

This does not appear to be a fossil of any kind.
I think it is a rock, maybe limestone, dolostone, or chert.

That's what it appears to me to be. Looks a lot like extra cement that was poured out at the end of a project and hardened up into this shape.

 

No signs of anything biological in this.
