Large sponge in flint rock

found: loose beach rock

units: metric

my ID: looks like its a sponge of some sort based on the texture but i cannot narrow it down

Sorry i dont know the technical names but the round bit on the end of the stalk?

im unsure due to the D shape of the hole rather than an O shape as in most the sponges i can find

its possible. I'm also not sure about the excact shape, and how much of the specimen is part of the fossil

 

it looks like its mainly internal structure that was been covered by a white layer in the past but im guessing it was fragile and broke while tumbling around in the waves and only the part near the edges remain
