New Members Elvee Posted Tuesday at 12:38 PM New Members Share Posted Tuesday at 12:38 PM Hi all- going through my collection and came across this nice piece. It's very smooth, with inclusions showing a veined/spotted texture. I *believe* this is from a trip to the Virgin Islands some twenty-odd years ago, specifically St. John/St. Thomas area. ID would be awesome, but I also wanted to share, I haven't seen many corals(?) with this much preserved detail.
Ludwigia
I'm sorry, but I'm not seeing any details which would indicate to me that this is a coral. Although I can't make out the little inclusions in the holes, since they aren't in focus. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Mark Kmiecik
This is not a coral, fossil or extant. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
