Skullcap?

Found on beach in Myrtle, similar to a searobin but definitely thicker and more rounded on top. Two holes on what I would call the snout and two holes on top view as well.

I believe this is a skull piece from a Sea-robin.

Here it is bottom left next to some see robin skull plates.  unless it’s just more of a complete piece, I think it is different.

I could be wrong but the first pic shows heavy wear on every other piece except the one you are questioning. I think you answered your own question.

Based on the foramina, I would say a fish from the Acanthuridae family (like surgeonfishes).
