Is this a crystal rattle snake?

This is a second post on this rock I found. It appears to be a crystallized fossil of a rattlesnake. I need someone to tell me if I’m wrong or maybe I’m correct. Pictures of the head and the rattle

Sorry to tell you but you’re wrong. Theres no skin,bones, evidence of any thing snakelike….sorry

Agreed. It also does not appear to be sedimentary rock.

I envy your imagination, but I can't see a snake shape, even though the shape is not what paleontologists look for in a fossil

Metamorphic rock, with quartz veins in it.

I have to disagree. Shape is definitely something to look for. Just not the only thing.

You’re absolutely right. What I meant to say is that we typically seek out bones, or skin fragments, but we rarely see a complete form, such as that of a snake.

Here's an example of a snake skull:

You can see it's just the bones in the matrix. Soft tissue rarely fossilizes.

The loose nature of the individual bones nicely illustrates why snake skull fossils are rare.
