Fossil tooth? found in demopolis chalk in Starkville, MS

Hey all, a friend and I were digging in some exposed chalk in the Starkville, MS area and found this fossil. We believe it to be a tooth but we're struggling to identify it in any way. Any help is appreciated.

I don’t know the geology of your location. And the lack of size information is also making an informed guess difficult.   Coco has provided a printable cm paper that can easily  be used to provide a size reference.  I am thinking orthocone nautiloid

Ah sorry, I tagged but forgot to mention this was in the demopolis chalk formation. It's 60-70 million years old. Also one of these pictures compares it to a penny in size, but it's about 1.25 inches long X 0.6 inches wide at its widest point.
