Hello everyone, this is a cool piece that I found when was working around the Archaean craton region in my home state of Montana. There was a little Creek that ran through and the night before, a massive wind storm blew trees down essentially blocking the creek off exposing all the bed Rock ( an amazing opportunity ) well this was right along the bank as well as some other really interesting finds. I would appreciate any info I can get. Thank you guys !

Nice stone and a good pic! My opinion is, they you found a non-sediment stone with quarz-lines due to breakage in the deeper crust of the earth.

No avian fossil

If this stone is really from an Archaean craton, then I don't think you'll be finding any dino, bird or fish fossils in or on it, since the stone was produced long before those creatures existed. Anyway, I agree with rocket and see no fossil here.

I don't see anything that looks like a fossil (let alone a bird fossil).

Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC).
