Brevicollis Posted yesterday at 05:51 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:51 AM Appears like a piece of flint to me. I allowed me to copy paste a possible answer to this question from the internet. "There are two possible explanations for why flint forms in bands or layers. Firstly, because the sedimentation of chalk occurs in cycles, and secondly, because the process described above depletes the silica at a certain sediment depth and flint formation cannot begin again until there is enough silica to start the process again" Source : http://snpr.southdowns.gov.uk/files/additions/For how flint is formed.ht 3 My account and something about me : My still growing collection : My paleoart : I'm just a young guy who really loves fossils
Rockwood Posted yesterday at 11:11 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:11 AM Sounds like the refined version of banded chert.
