fossil pattern in flint?

found: loose beach rock

units: metric

notes:  

im guessing its a fossil due to the pattern, however as for what it is i have no idea. if it isn't a fossil id like to know how it is formed

If anything, it'll be trace fossils/ burrows. Flint is often associated with burrow systems and assumes many suggestive shapes that may be related to this.
