For some times like the Silurian or Cambrian, how would one break it into Upper/middle/lower?

Thanks.

The ICS,  had a chart that lists the series that make up the Cambrian and Ordovician. The age in years is determined by a rock or mineral that is datable by isotopes.

The Ordovician is broken into official series that are capitalized Upper, Middle and Lower. The Cambrian is broken into named and capitalized series.

I am aware of that, but has the Cambrian been broken up into definite Lower/Middle/Upper or is that subjective? Sorry that my original question was worded unclearly.

The Cambrian is not officially divided into Lower, Middle and Upper per ICS. You could informally use lower case, lower, middle and upper although it might not be clearly defined.
