Over het algemeen lees je op internet dat Pteraspis een geslacht was van uitgestorven kaakloze vissen die leefden tijdens het Laat-Siluur of Vroeg/Midden-Devoon. Je leest dit op Wikipedia, maar ook op elke andere willekeurige site. Nu ontdekte ik dat de site van de Paleobiology Database ook vermeldt dat fossielen van deze vis werden gevonden in het Devoon, maar er staat ook dat hij werd gevonden in het Ordovicium

I'm confused, did Pteraspis live during the Late Silurian and Early/Middle Devonian, or did Pteraspis already arise in the Middle Ordovician (as can be seen if you look at the Paleobiology Database link), which means they survived the Late Ordovician extinction?
