JonUte
Hi again, Everyone. My wife found this while beach combing and I wondered what to make of it. The tooth won’t come off even though I tried prying it. I don’t want to get brutal n case something breaks. The item is 3/4” long. Any thoughts? Mark Kmiecik
There's no tooth there. Just an unusually shaped rock. Fossil, or even modern, teeth will have enamel the root will have dentin and cementum layers. None of these are evident here. I also don't see any parts of this specimen that shaped like an actual tooth. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them! Rockwood
I'd leave the shark tooth where it is. To prove to skeptics that it is really a fossil if nothing else.

New Members Wyatt Plaster Posted 48 minutes ago New Members Share Posted 48 minutes ago I'd leave in in the rock. That way you don't risk breaking or damaging the tooth.
