Unidentified Beach Find

I found this 10-11-2024 in the wrack on the shores of NWFL beaches after two recent hurricanes hit to the East of us.

Im just starting my journey into learning about fossils, thought this might be a good place to start.

I had first thought it was a pc of surfwood but the weight was much heavier so I inspected it under my magnifying glass I use to inspect my seashells. I noticed the symmetry and knew this was something either man made or organic

any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is part of a sea robin skull.

Indeed. These are very easy to identify (once you've seen the first one). Till you learn what they are, they are a complete mystery. ;)

They are very sturdy and seem to fossilize well. Odd looking creatures when they are alive.

Cheers.
