I'm working on removing a vert from a concretion and i can tell I'm going to have some trouble with the fins. Anyone have any advice on this? Should i use an air scribe with alot of patience and magnification or try somethnig else?

I don't think there will be a satisfactory short cut; keep your tip sharp! (Wouldn't hurt to double-up on the patience part too...)

What Auspex said. Slow (really slow) and steady. Looks interesting. Keep us posted on the progress.

Yeah, and apply some superglue or butvar to protect the vertebra as it's being exposed. Otherwise, bone will fracture and chip off in tiny bits.

So what would work best for this? With butvar i apply it as i go then use like Darvan or something to remove it later?
