Odd possible fossil

Not sure if this is a Funny Rock or something else, but has odd striations and is quite large for random fill+doesn't look like a lot of the more common concretions. Found along Hyattsville area sidewalk in pile of roadwork debris along with some small concretions typical for the area. Extremely weathered if it *is* anything and has not been fully cleaned. I can post more detailed pics if needed.

Sounds like a plan, I don't want to waste their time with a funny looking rock so I figured I'd post for a gut check here.

Thanks; I'll clean it up a bit and hold on to it at least as a "nice local rock, not fossil" thing but that does spare me a hike out to Laurel this weekend. I should really find a book on MD plant fossils anyways, I feel like every time I'm walking around the eastern half of the DMV I'm wondering about some or other rock and it would be helpful to actually know what I'm looking at.

Oh quick update: I gave it a bit more of a proper clean, and it looks a bit more like a larger version of the typical local concretions with a bit of an unexpectedly rough surface. Still a nice bit of rock to find on the sidewalk, though, and if anyone wants some photos here you go. A lot of these concretions actually do have plant fossils, although I don't think this is one based on what y'all said.
