Crocodile or plesiosaur jaw with a tooth?

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine recently discovered a fragmented jaw fossil with a tooth in China, dating to the Middle Jurassic period. The tooth appears to have fine striations, but since it hasn’t been fully cleaned, it’s unclear whether it has carinae. The isolated tooth fits perfectly into the sockets of the fragmented jaw, though this doesn’t necessarily confirm they belong to the same species in spite of being found together. Could these fossils belong to a crocodile, a plesiosaur, or something else?
