New Members AndrewMT Posted 10 hours ago New Members Share Posted 10 hours ago Howdy, Wondering if it is worth posting pictures for each vertebra or if I just have some strange "rocks". I don't want to waste anyone's time or take up server space! Provenance: Yet to be determined (it's complicated). Found in Montana, USA near the continental divide +/- 100miles is as specific as I can be at the moment. Apologies, people die and their knowledge is lost when not recorded. The Vertebra on the far left is 15cm x 10cm x 10cm. Thanks for humoring me!
jpc
the big one on the far left is a half of a plesiosaur vertebra. Those two holes and the flat ends (above the 12 cm mark on your ruler) are pretty diagnostic for plesiosaurs. Are these all from the same place? Could they be from one animal)?
hadrosauridae
These are all vertebra. I can't help with species ID, but they are clearly verts. As JPC said, more precise location information can help lead to better IDs. They are certainly not "just rocks."
