I was just at Beaumaris, filming a short documentary on the location, and I came across what I guess to be coral, partially sticking out of the cliff. I didn’t take it, due to the fact I think that is illegal (unsure though), however I was just interested in what it could actually be. Could to just be strangely shaped rock? Finger is for scale.

Looks like it might be some oyster fossils caked together, but I am definitely no expert so I defer to others who can confirm or correct me

Yes, I can definitely see what you are saying. In my opinion, that is a highly likely result, yet I know nothing as well.

Some sort of bivalve I think... I wonder if this is an archeological find, as here in the states Native Americans would have shell dump sites, since they harvested them for food.  Not sure if the Aboriginal Australians did something similar.
